About Me

“I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals, inspiring and supporting them to achieve their highest potential. I am dedicated to helping people in my community to find their passion, courage and meaning so that together we are creating a better life not just for ourselves but for those around us. So many people underestimate the power of art. When you place a paint brush in someone’s hand and ask them to paint, something wonderful happens. They are no longer thinking about the problems that they are going through. Now they are thinking what do I do with this? Most of the time you get a chuckle from them initially. They are waiting for someone to tell them that they can do it. And the great thing is that they just don’t know it yet. I experience it all the time when I do workshops with the public. Even those who have never created any type of art work in their life are able to walk away at the end of the lesson with a smile on their faces and something they are proud of in their hands.

We are told by so many people, beginning from when we are small, that something can’t be done or we are just not good enough. We tend to carry this baggage in our heart and mind and after a while so many of us start to feel that others are right. We believe can’t do it, we are just not good enough. When I work with the community, whether it is painting or drawing, I start with yes you can; you just don’t realize your own potential yet. Positive reinforcement is the key to success, it is the key to happiness, it is the key to love and compassion. When we have these things in our hearts we become part of the solution instead of being part of the problem.

I am very passionate about what I do and the reason why I do it. I have given up a very successful career in real esate development to become a full-time artist because there is nothing else on earth that makes me feel alive, happy and fulfilled as being an artist and a humanitarian.

Music, poetry, dance, stories and visual arts bring hope to life. It puts a smile on our faces even if it is just for 10 minutes. It becomes a beacon of hope. The arts bring people together as a collective to work toward a better and brighter future. The arts is a reminder that we have more in common that we have in difference. We are bonded together through our humanity and that can only come through by being loving, kind and compassionate toward each other.”

“I hope you join me in making this school a beacon of hope for those in our community who need our help to empower them when they need us the most.”
